Great expectations
By Long Toothed Audiophile
I bought this turntable a few weeks back. I was looking forward to using it. It is so pretty & shiny in the picture, the one and only picture that conceals the mini plastic turntable, the picture that conceals the lack of anti-skate adjustment and the picture that conceals the loose chunk of metal they refer to as a counter weight simply hanging loosely on a screw pressed into the rear of the tubular tone arm. And no calibration marks to set the tracking force. Then the shock sets in when the Vinylwriter Pro turntable has no recommended tracking weight, the manual simply says and I quote: Adjust the tone arm balance if the cartridge (needle skates (slides) on your album. Like that will ever happen to one of my cherished vinyl albums. The manual does not mention a replacement stylus. And the cartridge has no apparent identifying marks. The dust cover is a flimsy piece of vacuum formed clear plastic sheet. This turntable is not a Pro anything, it is truly inadequate for any serious listening or USB recording. I returned it to where it was purchased.

Worthless piece of junk
By Kevin M. Tekel
The Vinylwriter Pro seems to have been designed and built by people who have absolutely no idea how a turntable is supposed to work. The list of features is good (magnetic cartridge, built-in pre-amp, 78 RPM speed, etc.), but the build quality is horrendously poor, it has numerous serious design flaws, and the resulting sound quality is actually worse than cheaper turntables which use a ceramic cartridge!Design flaws: The platter is only 7 inches in diameter, so LPs hang over the edge by several inches, the dust cover is a flimsy Tupperware container, the tonearm cannot be properly balanced, there is no anti-skating, and the pre-amp has extremely dull sound with no treble (evident both in the analog and USB outputs).Poor build quality: When I got my Vinylwriter Pro, the cartridge was misaligned in the headshell, the tonearm had tons of free-play in its mounting, the right channel was playing louder than the left channel, and the turntable was running too fast -- and there is no user-accessible way to adjust the speed, at least not without opening up the case and voiding the warranty.Needless to say, I returned this turntable almost immediately after getting it out of the box. Don't waste your money on it!

Good seller nice product.
By John Gerberick
Best digital table for the price. I use it with an Apple® IMac for Vinyl to CD conversion. I have many rare only played once on a high end Phillips® turntable to dub to cassette tape the stored in rice paper sleeves within original cover inside heavy plastic protecters. Now I plan to digitize them to CDs and sell the vinyl originals.(...)
