Exactly what you'd expect from a <$50 turntable.
By crvl
This turntable is a piece of junk. It required a repair right out of the box. I had to take it apart immediately and redo the solder on two of the wires before I could even get the platter to spin. The case is flimsy and feels every bit as cheap as the price would suggest. The sound is, of course, horrible, but that's a given when purchasing such a low price record player. Also, there is no way to disable the internal speakers without modification. The only positive thing I can say about this turkey is that it has three speeds. I'd stay away.

Do Not Buy!

More than just a waste of money, this might cost you money: after "testing" this turntable with several different records, I realised within just a few minutes that this devise has the potential to seriously damage if not ruin your vinyl! The combination of a turntable that is sufficiently warped and an arm that isn't heavy enough means the needle jumps all over the place (and I physically cringed when I heard it skating and grating across the grooves!?). Over and above these fundamental flaws, the sound is much thinner than I thought it was going to be (I don't think my expectations were unreasonable for the money) and the volume isn't great either.

Believe the "hype" - Good price and does what it's supposed to do.

I didn't buy this product from Amazon, but from a local Marshall's clothing store for $50. When I was considering buying it, I jumped onto Amazon to see what it was rated and what others had to say since most players like this usually cost somewhere between $80 - $200.Although there are some bad reviews here, I was VERY pleasantly SUPRIZED by this player!!The USB audio option works on both a mac and PC, and it just takes a little extra setup to do everything that it needs without using the included CD, which includes the program "Audacity" to record and edit the audio. It should be noted that Audacity is an open-source project, and can be gotten on the internet for free! If you're using a mac, use Garageband for your recordings if you want to make things simple.Anyway, I found the sound to be adequate, and the speakers pumped out a lot more sound than I would have thought. The speakers were actually better than I thought they'd be, and if you want full quality sound, you can plug the player into a stereo system VIA RCA cables, which gives you good sound. The only thing that you have to be aware of is that the player needs to be charged fully BEFORE you use it for the first time. I almost thought it was broken, but, after I charged it (with my tablet USB charger) in about 2 hours, it was ready to go. If you're thinking about buying it, buy it. I would totally recommend.
