Music Hall turntables first saw the light of day in 1998. They are manufactured in the Czech Republic in a factory that continued, throughout the Soviet Era, to make high quality turntables despite growing interest in CDs.

Music Hall has developed a cohesive and logical range of turntables. All are designed to extract a musical and satisfying presentation from that fabulous medium we call vinyl. From the least expensive MMF-2.1 to the flagship MMF-9 all our turntables deliver incredible sound and value for money. All are fitted with expensive cartridges from Music Hall or Goldring.

5Roy Hall Knows His Stuff!
By F. Edward Mouton
First Rate Turntable! While it is easily possible to drop far more cash on esoteric models by other manufacturers, I don't think you can actually buy much more performance except in perhaps a <1% degree. Very respectable Project tone arm, heavy glass platter, included Goldring cartridge is a decent introductory, but begs for an upgrade. I outfitted my MMF-5 with a Sumiko Blackbird, which is easily superior to all other entries in the <$1000 category IMHO, and my ears! Very Nice piano finish and heavy hinged dust cover, adjustable VTA, all brought together in a stylish component! For another $500+ the next model Music Hall MMF 7 Turntable is also a good option, with some additional features, but one will pay a premium for slightly incremental upgrade.

5A spectacular bargain.
By Charlie Millthorpe
I bought this turntable for my son who is really into vinyl rock from the 60s and early 70s. It's connected to an old Harman Kardon AVR-20 receiver running Klipsch Epic-3 speakers. Assembly was simple, specially with the You Tube video. We first put on a copy of The Allman Brothers, Live at The Fillmore East. The sound was full and rich, with deep bass. I was simply astounded. I used to listen to this album on a high end Thorens. It sounded just as I remember. There is a quality about analogue that is lost with some of the new remastered CDs.It is not an automatic turntable, (You have to play one LP at a time) which may bother some listeners. However, this is a high quality turntable with a good cartridge at a very reasonable price. In addition, I couldn't see myself spend over $300 for a 40 year old Thorens on Ebay. This is one of the finest turntables I've ever owned.

5Please Pinch Me!!
By Gerard Masters
Hey there!Continuing on my Turntable journey, I've bought my third 'Audiophile' turntable in 4 years, and I must say, not only have I been severely Blessed with being able to be so indulgent, but I think I'm in Heaven on Earth X3!!My first indulgence was the Audio Technica ATLP120, which I bought to replace my older Pioneer PL-550, which was no slouch, but I had to but to get into get into Paramount 78 rpm discs and also wanted to upgrade to some newer gear, and the AT turned out to be a great table. But after I pretty much went through my 78 phase, I wanted to see what the 'High End' had to offer. But let me re-phrase that, High End meaning for me something around $500, which is still a butt-load of mulah! So I initially bought the MMF 2.2LE, which is the younger brother to this Bad Boy! And what a great Turntable that one is, and the Ferrari Red color just was jaw dropping. But this past Christmas an on line dealer put the 5.1 on sale for $300 less than it's normal selling price and I just had to bight the bullet and get it, as there is no way I could afford the $875 regular price. But listen here, look at what I said: I liked the 2.2LE so much that I bought a Second Music Hall Turntable!! That's about as good a recommendation you could ask for!! The Upgrade in Tonearm and Motor is real both in Sound Quality and robustness. The sound on this turntable is more 'honey-thick' than the 2.2LE. By that I mean that listening to an old dance 12" of the band Kix doing 'Body Talk' I heard a clarity in the sound that had authority, and that's almost stupid sounding because I can't really put clarity to what I mean except to say that it was the audio difference between drinking a Budweiser beer and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Both are great tasting beers, but they have different bodies and taste to them, and that's about as close as I can come to describing the MMF 5.1 against the 2.2LE, I'm satisfied with both, but you DO get a bit of a better build as far as motor and tonearm go-and they DO give an Upgrade to the sound of my vinyl. So there, I'm crazy and I know it! But if your looking for a more 'defined' turntable than the ATLP-120, that I reviewed a few years ago, there are a bunch of great turntables out there in this price range: Rega/Pro-Ject and so on. The Rega's I don't care for their Look on the more up-scale models, they just look wrong to me, whereas the Music Hall Tables look absolutely sexy-beautiful and their very 'clean' looking also, they don't look outlandish or gimmicky, they just look very Nice. So, that's it for now. The New Vinyl Journey Keeps going. I'm enjoying my new baby like a new Bride.Happy New Year!Gerard Masters
