Don't waste your money.
By fendertubeman
This unit is comical - really. Imagine a "hi fi" turntable that doesn't allow you to install another cartridge. Imagine a "hi fi" turntable that doesn't have a tonearm with a counter balance weight and anti-skate control. Aren't these "basic features"? This thing is a glorified "close and play" made of cheap plastic. Denon should be ashamed of itself for putting it's name on such a low end product. And by the way, the sound quality is equally lame. I guess you get what you pay for, but I expected a decent level of quality from a unit with Denon's name on it. Seriously, this unit isn't worth more than $50. You would be better off buying something used. I didn't do my homework on this unit, and I got burned. Thanks, Denon.

Good deal for the money
By wrenhunter
I've had this for a few weeks now and love it. It's a fine turntable for a casual listener: simple operation, good sound. Note: there is a switch to disable the built-in pre-amp (which provides a good signal) if your receiver has a phono input.

Much less plastic than other plastics for $150... And plays
By lew
You cannot buy REAL turntable for $150. You buy a crap. But Denon crap is much less crap that others within the same price range. It looks plastic, but plays pretty well. I had other piece of plastic, worth $150, reputable manufacturer, looking nicer, "silver" plated, lot of gadgets etc. I sold it on garage sale. 10 bucks.I am using Denon to copy my 25 years old LPs to CD. Will not spend $500 or more for this. This model is perfect for this purpose. By the way, has the pre-amp built in. How many modern amplifiers have "phono" input?...
