Product Description
Since its first appearance the late 1990's, Pro-Ject's Debut range has been a must-buy for an entry-level turntable. In just over a decade, the Debut model has sold several hundred thousand units and has elevated the status of turntables by appearing in museum collections and gracing the pages of high-fashion and lifestyle magazines. Now the Debut Carbon sets a new cost/performance standard with a higher level of build precision, sound quality and aesthetics. The Debut III was a hard act to follow, but Pro-Ject has one again challenged convention by offering even better performance at an easily affordable price.
The most profound upgrade is the addition of the 8.6-inch single-piece tube carbon fiber tonearm that increases stiffness while decreasing unwanted resonances, resulting in a higher fidelity presentation of your treasured recordings. Fitted to the carbon fiber arm is a true high-end cartridge, the 2M Red phono cartridge by Ortofon. This arm/cartridge combination is delivers exceptional tracking and recovery of the musical nuance found within the record's grooves.
The attractive, resonance-reducing MDF platter supports a heavier 300mm diameter metal platter for smoother rotation and lower wow and flutter. Additionally, a felt record mat is employed for superior record support and coupling. The platter and plinth assembly sits upon four-point O-ring feet designed for energy absorption, and the plinth-mounted motor is isolated by a new SorbothaneTM suspension to keep unwanted noise and vibration to a bare minimum. Plinth-mounted RCA output jacks allow for the use of higher quality interconnects for even better sonic performance. The Debut Carbon is offered in several high-gloss fashion colors and a full-sized hinged dustcover is included.

After 6 months of research
By David Reed
Although I had records I did not own a record player. I slowly came to the idea I should listen to music in an analog format and I must say I am happy I did. I spent 6 months pouring over every bit of information I could find so that I could make an informed decision on a high quality but reasonably priced player. This was the one I finally decided on and I would suggest it to anyone not looking to break the bank but still have amazing sound. I have it connected to a tube preamp and it blows and other people away when they hear it. If you are wondering if it is worth it take it from me it totally is!

Turn Tables have become great audio sources
By E. Hale Burnside II
like many others when the CD came out it was instant death for my record collection . I had no intent to ever listen to a record again . I then bought a new pre amp from Emotiva and it is suppose to have a great phono pre amp section . So since I had the empty spot I went ahead and purchased this turntable for my new pre amp . The fact that it has a great tono cartage had a lot to do with this purchase and was a deciding factor . I also purchased a few records , some old that were in mint condition , and new . I am stunned to hear how great records sound with the new electronics . When I listen to some records made in the 1970's , that I purchased that were still wrapped up and never played i.e. mint condition , I could not believe how much sound I missed by listening to my stereo during the 1970's .Then I had what one would call state of the art electronics , but compared to now it was just noise . Records are making a come back and I can hear why . I looked at many different turntables before I purchased this one . It was not expensive , and had great up grades available for the future . I watched a factory video on you tube . I am very happy with my purchase . Now that recording engineers are compressing and ruining todays music more and more I am going to be purchasing records over CD's when ever possible . you cannot go wrong with this turn table

Worth every cent
By Oscar V.
Comparing this to a 20+ year old fisher/sanyo (my previous turntable) and its like a different world. I fell in love with the look right out of the box and once it started playing (and getting the kinks out) by the 3rd record it was warmed up and delivered on its specifications. Sound is awesome.
